God's Blessings of Friendship and Sharing
In early 2001 in an effort to enter into a deeper prayer life, I began writing a scriptural reflection each day based on the daily liturgical readings. At the urging of a few friends I began to share these reflections through e-mail and found that, between family and friends, I was sending the reflections to about twenty people each day. Soon others asked to be added to the e-mail list, and still others began to forward the reflections to their own family and friends. By the grace of God this ministry grew to the point where more than 2,000 people worldwide began receiving and sharing God's Word in these reflections.
Through this ministry I feel truly blessed, not only by the grace of God, but as a result of the many friendships that have come about through this endeavor. It is becoming a road that I not only enjoy traveling, but a road filling with people who want nothing more than to share in the happiness and glory that comes from sharing God's Word. I receive e-mails from people every day attesting to the power and love of our God, a testament to the power that gives God's Word its true meaning - the gift of love that enhances friendship and prayer, allowing each of us to exult over the goodness in our lives and the warmth that comes from human contact and the happiness it brings.
With so many people now sharing these reflections through e-mail, word of mouth, and the publication of Were Not Our Hearts Burning!, it seems inevitable that these reflections would make their way to the Internet. And so here we are connected together in this manner, mostly unseen but touching each other nevertheless in profound ways that only God's Word can provide. So to those of you who may be arriving for the first time - welcome! For those of you returning - welcome back!
